Sr. Project Architect

About the Job:
Russell and Dawson Inc., a mid-sized architectural and engineering firm located in East Hartford CT, is seeking qualified Sr. Project Architects to support design projects for new construction, additions, alterations, and code compliance. Applicants must have a solid technical background in a variety of commercial building types, and in a variety of construction types including wood, steel, masonry, and concrete. They must have exceptional communication skills with the project team, clients, consultants, contractors, and local officials; and be able to identify, manage, and resolve complex issues. The selected applicant will be responsible for existing conditions documentation, architectural design, code compliance, and construction drawings in addition to managing architectural projects. Responsibilities include design and design implementation, construction documents, building systems, bidding, permitting, contract administration and project close out. Applicants should be able to demonstrate proficiency in all these areas. Please e-mail cover letter, resume, and work sample for consideration.

Required:

  • B.Arch. or M.Arch. From an accredited institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in an architectural office
  • Experience with K-12 projects
  • Connecticut Architectural License
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Successful completion of at least one LEED certified project in which the applicant played a key role in design or documentation for certification
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft office products

Desired:

  • NCARB Certificate
  • LEED GA Certificate
  • Experience with government and commercial clients
